Elis Mutlu

Project Assistant

Prague (CZ)

Elis received her BA degree in Sociology from Bogazici University, Istanbul. The moment she joined in her first urban sociology class, it was crystal-clear that it is her passion aka job for lifetime. While studying at the university, she volunteered for the research project “Istanbul 1910-2010: The City, Built Environment and Architectural Culture Exhibition” that mapped a hundred years of socio-economic and physical transformation of the city. Copenhagen was the first city she moved in by herself, and it is still her most favourite city in Europe. In search of the pioneering models that combine social theory with architecture and city planning practice, she decided to study her master degree at the Bauhaus School of Architecture in Weimar. In the meantime, she was doing her internship in Rotterdam, and then conducted her thesis research on the Dutch co-housing communities. She received her MSc degree in 2013, and moved back to Istanbul. For 2.5 years, she had worked for an urban-think-tank that focused on human centered design and social impact assessment of urban regeneration projects in Istanbul. In 2017, she made another big decision; she moved to Prague, and she has immediately jumped into reSITE. Now, Prague is another of her favourite cities – she will always be in search of them around the world. She can’t help but be a nomad. It’s her thing.
